WHO WE ARE

Family Owned & Operated

Steve Penado was trained as a cabinetmaker in Jamaica before immigrating to Maine to learn to build fiberglass lobster boats.

He soon found his way to managing the Hinckley Picnic Boat builds but then we he tired of the production line, he graduated to custom race boats like Puma and Belle Mente and fell in love with the art of custom carbon fiber.

In 2019, he started Craftsmen Custom Composites in Florida but his work takes him and his crew all over the East Coast with their mobile shop.

Penado surrounds himself with a close crew - including his wife and son - with amazing skill sets and passion.

Craftsmen Custom Composites is fully insured and ready to take on your next project.

WHO WE ARE

I had the pleasure of working with Steve Penado and Craftsman  Custom Composites on an epoxy catamaran project in 2022. Having worked in the industry for 20 years myself, I knew Steve was the go to builder when I found myself in need of assistance. From the moment we first spoke I knew I made the right call. His knowledge, skill, craftsmanship, and work ethic made for a tremendous experience.


Steve and his crew came into the project with dedication and enthusiasm. They completed the project on time and on budget. Craftsman  Custom Composites exceeded all expectations and I look forward to working with them in the future

Craftsmen Custom Composites performed a major hull repair on our 50 ft carbon fiber catamaran. Steve Penado and his team did an excellent job. Attention to detail was superb resulting in a beautiful finish. Steve provided daily updates and all around communication was excellent.
